Local Man Struck By Car Lapses Into Coma, Has Miracle Healing One Hour After Being Prayed Over In Hospital Bed
December 14, 2006
(SCCN) - The call came Sunday, December tenth. Nineteen-year-old Alex Lopez had been hit by a truck while crossing the street in Fallbrook. He had lapsed into a coma and worse yet, his brain was bleeding. Paramedics had transported him to Palomar Memorial Hospital in Escondido where his family had gathered to wait for news on his condition.
Alex's father was a born-again Christian; had been baptized two years ago by a family friend, Fee Soliven. The family called their friend Fee, who is a leader of the prayer team at his church. "They were in a panic mode; they were hysterical. Renato said 'Fee, please pray for my son,' and he told me what had happened."
Fee immediately began praying, and also contacted his church office to put Alex on the prayer chain. On Tuesday, after rearranging his schedule, Fee and his wife Yolanda to drive from their Chula Vista home to the hospital in Escondido.
"We met Renato there and he took us to his son’s trauma room," said Fee. "Alex’s mom was there and we asked if we could pray for her son."
Alex was still in coma and was in bad shape. The doctors did not have hope that he would even survive! Alex was now just minutes away from surgery. "We anointed Alex’s head with oil and the entire family gathered around and laid hands on him," said Fee. "We prayed that God would do a miracle for him."
Fee and Yolanda spent more time with the family and prayed again with them. They then gave it to the Lord and went back home to Chula Vista. Then came news of the miracle.
"As soon as we got home from Escondido, we get a call from Renato and he had great joy because about an hour after we had left the hospital Alex woke up and he also raised himself up and started talking to everyone who was in his room!" God had truly met them all there in that hospital room, and decided to show Himself. The Lord Himself touched Alex through His faithful servants and made him arise and astound his family! But not just the family.
"The whole nursing staff was just amazed," said Fee. "They were just moments away from taking Alex to surgery to drain his brain from the bleeding. All they kept saying was that was a miracle."
Alex is now in stable condition and doing well according to the family. "Praise God!" said Fee. "God is truly pouring out His spirit! May Jesus continue to be glorified in our midst!
***UPDATE: 12/17/06 Alex is out of ICU! He is off life support and doing very well. God is GOOD!
