Toys for Joy Celebrating 10 Years of Blessing Children, Holding Christmas Event
December 14, 2006
Area pastors are teaming up again this year to bring toys, fun, and Christ to San Diego families. The 10th annual “Toys for Joy” Christmas Outreach is set for this Friday night, December 15, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church on Cesar Chavez Parkway.
The Rock Church has been gathering toys to distribute to area children as well as preparing for the big event. Families will be able to hear the gospel preached by area pastors and each child will go home with a toy. The four-hour event also includes stages with live music, a fun-zone for kids, food booths, clowns, and mimes.
Older attendees won't be left out: the event also will host a medical clinic, a prayer tent, and a teen outreach.
The call is still going out for help for the little ones: "Our biggest need at this point is for funding and more toys," said Darah Wilson
from The Rock Church.
The event goes on from 5:00 until 9:00 pm.
The church is still collecting toy donations for "Toys for Joy." You can drop off donations at The Rock Church office at 2448 Historic Decatur Road #105 or at Chick-fil-A at 3570 Sports Arena Boulevard.
This is the day the Lord hath made; he calls the hours his own.
Let heaven rejoice, let earth be glad, and praise surround the throne.
I pray that God, who gives hope, will bless you with complete happiness and peace because of your faith. And may the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope. Romans 15:13
