Giovinetti and his group garnered media coverage last year while they were in Israel meeting with Prime Minister Olmert, as war broke out with Lebanon. They were able to pray over the troops, and eventually returned home safely.
to hold a special session on Wednesday, just two days after rogue Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said yet again that Israel will soon be “completely destroyed.”
The Prime Minister and Giovinetti are scheduled to meet privately next week. Giovinetti is also slated to speak to a special caucus of the Israeli Knesset. Giovinetti is a staunch support of Israel and has many friends and contacts in the government and military. He and his group will also be spending time with members of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). And, while nothing is yet scheduled, Giovinetti expects to spend some time with his friend Binyamin Netanyahu.

Giovinetti and his group are in Israel by personal invitation from Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Giovinetti, a friend of Olmert and frequent visitor to Israel, has been asked to attend a special celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Reunification of Jerusalem. June fifth marks the 40th anniversary of the start of the Six Day War, which significantly altered the face of the Middle East map and the course of history. Some Israeli commentators are concerned that Syria and its allies might attempt to erase the results of that war in the coming days or weeks, especially by launching an attack on the Golan Heights, captured from Syria by IDF forces on June 10, 1967.
