San Diego Band Is Both YOUNG and GODLY -- NEW BREED Has Taken Up the Cross
and Is Sharing Their Love for Christ!
(SCCN) -- January 18, 2007 -- In a time when churches are scrambing to retain youth membership, it does a Body good to see a new breed of teens which is not only staying on the path of righteousness, but also crying out their love for the Lord AND making sure others hear them.
In San Diego, this group called New Breed tours the community, making stops at events and churches. At their young age and within a short time of organizing, they have already produced a CD of their music.
"We perform and witness through our music all the time in San Diego," says band member Robert Young. "We are just some young teens making a difference in the Christian community--inspirational Jesus music--showing the world we can praise just a little different."

I pray that God, who gives hope, will bless you with complete happiness and peace because of your faith. And may the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope. Romans 15:13
has their own CD and is currently working on more songs.
"For now we do it for fun,
but we are praying that God will bless us so we can tour the country with the message that you can love and praise God
in your own special way."
New Breed began March 2006 when Robert and his brother Eddy decided there was something more God was calling them to do. "We decided that it was time to to take our cause for Christ to a whole new level and take over with the younger generation. We believe Jesus planted this new seed because the teenagers need to hear something new and music they can identify with."
Seventeen-year-old Robert and 19-year-old Eddy Ross soon started writing and performing Christian rap, along with two other friends, Joseph Gordon and Herbert Rivers (Rivers also leads Bible study for the group). Robert says the music initially sounds a lot like secular music, but there is actually something very different.
"We wanted to be able to make ear catching music without using guns and profanity. We wanted music that glorified Jesus and still appealed to all listeners from different backrounds.
"We have beats that keep the grandmas swangin' in church and we still tie a good message into our songs. That's why I think we have success."
Success indeed. New Breed has been contacted by music producers in L.A., but they completed their first CD on their own. They went the extra step to have it digitally remastered, and have sold more than 800 copies without any professional help.
Robert says the group sounds "like nothing of this world."
"We bring deepness; we make heads knock and we make you think about your life situation as well as others. Only GOD can make music like that. We are just the people he has chosen to do it through.
New Breed is also looking for a church home as they go about planning their next album. As busy as they are, they are quick to say they are keeping their eyes on one thing above all: Jesus.
"We are staying focused on our goal and that is to get all the souls we can to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. The main thing is we have fun and glorify God through what we do.
"As you can see we praise a lil' different, but it's all going to the most high. So watch out for us in San Diego and possibly up and down California as we start to network with other people in the gospel music industry!"
